47% of all Lancasters manufactured were lost on ops. On average each Lanc flew 21 missions and stood a 2.23% chance of being lost on a sortie.

31% of all Halifaxes manufactured were lost on ops. On average each Hally flew 13 missions and stood a 2.38% chance of being lost on a sortie.

So chances are if you were assigned to a Lanc you would fly more missions and have almost a 50/50 chance of surviving.
